Sandstone Pavers
Sandstone is a sedimentary rock made up of sand sized minerals. Its colour can range commonly includes tan, brown, yellow, red, gray and white. It’s composed mostly of quartz and feldspar particles which are usually between 1/16 millimeter and 2 mm in size. There are three main types of sandstones, arkosic, quartzose and argillaceous. Sandstones have one common element in them, the quartzite. Depending on what other components make up them, one type of sandstone has different characteristics from other types.
Sandstone pavers have been popular for thousands of years in making buildings. Its range of colours and textures has made it extremely popular in designing houses and landscapes. Being soft and regular in size it is also easy to use. Sandstone characteristics make it naturally slip resistant making it a good choice for making surfaces around a swimming pool or other places that needs a safe surface to walk on.
